Meet a new Frieler to the flock: Karolina

By Team Friel

We love it when a new member of the flock starts, it's always an exciting time getting to know that person and find out about their lives and what drives them. Karolina Kasmauskaite recently joined us as a Marketing Assistant, and we thought we'd share on our blog space how lovely she is with a bit more about her!

Tell everyone a bit about yourself!

Hey everyone! My name is Karolina and I’m the new Flamingo of this flock! I was born and raised in Lithuania, but after I turned 16, my family and I moved to the UK. In my first year here, I studied Business Admin, which developed into studying Business Studies. Over those 4 years studying, I have developed my knowledge and learning and met a lot of people, visited a lot of new places (I love Suffolk!) and experienced a lot of new things.

As a new Frieler, what were your first impressions of our crazy gang?

I first heard about Friel was when I was looking for a new job. From the moment I found out they were recruiting, I knew they would be a great place to develop professionally. I kept on nagging Clare, our wonderful director and founder, and I didn’t let her rest as I was always emailing and calling to show her I was the only person for the job! I didn’t want to lose such an amazing opportunity as I knew Friel was a rare gem and I just wanted to be part of it.

What do you love about Marketing?

I have always had a passion for marketing, especially the freedom and the creativity that comes with it. Creativity is paramount, as things would simply not work without it, and with creativity comes freedom as well; the things you can do, the ideas you can come up with, the things to explore, how you can communicate to people... It’s just endless!

Who would be your ideal client and why?

I would love to market a video games development studio. I have a passion for video games as I’ve been playing them since I was little and I haven’t stopped ever since. I feel like marketing a video game would be something unique and at the same time fun to explore. The video game industry is growing rapidly, so hopefully one day there will be a chance to explore such an opportunity.

What marketing campaigns have caught your eye recently?

The best marketing campaign I’ve seen over the past couple of months must be the 3D digital billboards in Tokyo. It’s amazing - it’s a billboard, which showcases advertisements, including one of the cutest ones - a Hyper-realistic “Shinjuku cat”, which has been receiving the most attraction so far. The cat was created by Yunika and MicroAd Digital Signage and it does not promote any product or service, as its goal is to please people walking past it, in a way to promote Cross Shinjuku Vision which is a new event space in Shinjuku.

Whereas another different display, which happened in London was introduced by Nissan. They used an impressive, giant cube, which 3D showcased a new Nissan Qashqai SUV, which happened to be Nissan’s new marketing campaign for launching a new product, this way offering customers this innovative experience.

When you’re not at Friel, how do you spend your free time?

Like I’ve already mentioned, I enjoy spending my time playing video games. Another interest of mine is paleontology. I’ve always been curious about the past life of Earth; how the climate, living things, environment have changed over time, and how they impacted how we live today. Without paleontology we wouldn’t be able to understand some of the most important principles, such as evolution. I also enjoy astronomy as well. There is always something new and exciting to learn from astronomy, as there are so many mysteries and unanswered questions out there. There’s always been something fascinating about space, the fact how we barely even scratched the surface of the universe only makes things so much more intriguing.
